I recently cloned the hard drive in my cousin’s computer over to an SSD. The computer booted just fine on the first try with the SSD. I ran some updates and got rid of some startup programs she didn’t need. She got it back a couple of days later and it was running fine. All of a sudden it just gives her a spinning circle of dots when she powers it up.

I have done several clones on other machines and never had an issue – all on Windows I booted from the repair disk again and used Diskpart to list the volumes.
WIndows 10 has serious problems with corruption so that everything depends on the quality of the install. Well, this time it wasn’t the fault of Windows. It turns out that the one week old SSD had failed. So, it is being returned and we are ordering a different brand. It sucks, because I have used that same brand 6 times and not had one issue.
